Located in the northwestern part of the state, Charleston, Arkansas is the county seat of Logan County and is situated in the center of the Ozarks region, about 120 miles from the state capital, Little Rock. Incorporated in 1871 and named after early settler Charles Waller Foote, the city has a current population of about 17,000 (2020 data).
