Jezzine, Lebanon
Jezzine is a mountain town in southern Lebanon, located at the southern foothills of the Lebanon Mountains at an altitude of about 950 meters, about 80 kilometers from the capital city of Beirut. The town is famous for the spectacular Jezzine Falls and its well-preserved castle, and is one of Lebanon's major tourist destinations. The Jezzine Falls cascade down a cliff to form a deep natural pool, surrounded by greenery and pleasant scenery that attracts many tourists. Built in the 18th century as an important military stronghold, the castle is now steeped in history as it overlooks the entire valley and the Mediterranean landscape. Jezzine is also known for its traditional handicrafts, especially copper, which is a unique tourist souvenir thanks to the skill of local artisans. The town has four distinct seasons, with cool summers ideal for escaping the heat and occasional snowfalls in winter adding to the quiet beauty of the town, a perfect blend of natural beauty and cultural heritage.
