Kloulklubed is the administrative center and main settlement on the west coast of the Republic of Palau's largest island, Babelthuap, in the state of Aimeelek. As the most populated area on the island, it is not the capital city (Palau's capital is Melekeoak), but is an important transportation hub and community center.
Klukluk Lubed is surrounded by tropical rainforests and coastal landscapes, as well as rich marine ecosystems. Its proximity to world-renowned diving destinations such as the Blue Horns and the German Waterway make it an ideal starting point for exploring Palau's coral reefs and World War II relics. The area is characterized by pristine beaches, mangroves and volcanic rock terrain.
Residents make their living primarily from traditional fishing, agriculture and tourism, preserving Micronesian cultural traditions. Small town amenities include a school, clinic and mini-market, and the pace of life is relaxed. Visitors can experience native crafts, participate in community activities, and enjoy easy road access to the island's natural attractions such as Ngardmau Falls.
Klukluk Lubed is a must-visit location to the UNESCO heritage site of the South Lagoon of Palau's Rock Islands, offering B&Bs and basic tourism services. Connected to the Koror State (Palau's economic center) and the international airport via the main road on Babelthuapu Island, Kluklukkaupede offers both tranquility and convenience for travelers seeking in-depth eco-tourism.
