Rio Baird is a town in the province of Manabi, Ecuador, located on the western coast of the country, about 30 kilometers from the main port city of Manta. It has a tropical climate, warm and humid all year round, with an average annual temperature of about 25°C. The town is located on the western coast of Ecuador's Manabi Province.
The town's main economic pillars are agriculture and fishing, with banana and cocoa plantations dotted around the neighborhood and traditional fishing communities along the coast. In recent years, it has gradually developed a small tourism industry and logistics services, taking advantage of its proximity to Manta.
The area retains its colonial architecture and hosts the traditional festival of San Pedro in July. It is surrounded by Pacific black sand beaches and mangrove ecosystems, which are important sites for observing migratory birds and sea turtles.
The main cities of Ecuador are directly accessible via the Pan-American Highway, and Manta International Airport is only 40 minutes away by car. It is recommended to be prepared for winds during the rainy season (December to April).
