The Liberation of Henan, China: Where History and Culture Meet
The liberation of Henan is not a separate country or city, but refers to the historical process of the liberation of Henan Province in China between 1948 and 1949. Located in central China, Henan Province is one of the major birthplaces of Chinese civilization and is rich in historical and cultural heritage, such as the Longmen Grottoes in Luoyang and the Yin Ruins in Anyang. Zhengzhou, the provincial capital, is an important transportation hub and economic center as a national central city.
With a total area of about 167,000 square kilometers and a population of nearly 100 million, Henan Province has a strong agricultural and industrial base and is known as the "Breadbasket of the Central Plains".
