Hosuyeh is a small city in the Isfahan Province of Iran, located about 350 kilometers south of the capital city of Tehran. The city is located in the eastern foothills of the Zagros Mountains, at an altitude of about 1,600 meters above sea level, with a dry and mild climate, with agriculture and traditional handicrafts as the mainstay of the economy. Hosuyeh has a population of about 30,000, and most of its inhabitants are Persian, speak Farsi, and follow the Shia sect of Islam.
The city has a long history, dating back to the Sassanid period, with remnants of old mosques and caravan post buildings. Known locally for carpet weaving, ceramics making and saffron cultivation, the surrounding landscape includes semi-desert mountains and seasonal rivers for cultural adventure tourism. Connected by highway to the major cities of Isfahan and Yazd, Hosuyeh is a peaceful traditional settlement in central Iran.
