Grochma is a district town in Stung Treng Province in northeastern Cambodia, located on the west bank of the Mekong River, adjacent to the Laos border. The area is known for its natural beauty and eco-tourism, surrounded by vast forested areas and rich wildlife resources.
Located on the border between Cambodia and Laos, Grochma is about 50 kilometers from the capital of Stung Treng province and is accessible by road and the Mekong River waterway. Its strategic location makes it an important node for border trade and tourism between the two countries.
The area is part of the Mekong River Basin ecosystem with unspoiled mangrove forests and wetlands, making it an ideal location for bird watching, fishing and eco-adventures. Protected areas and waterfall landscapes are also nearby, attracting nature lovers.
The local population is mainly engaged in agriculture and fishing, preserving the traditional Khmer way of life. In recent years, ecotourism and cross-border cooperation have gradually boosted the economy, but the infrastructure is still relatively simple and suitable for travelers seeking an original experience.
