Capitán Mauricio José Troche is an important town in the department of Guairá, Paraguay, located in the southeastern region of the country. Named after a hero of the Paraguayan War, the town is located about 180 kilometers from the capital, Asunción, in a typical Paraguayan transition zone between hills and plains.

The town was founded in the early 20th century and developed as an agricultural colony. According to the National Institute of Statistics of Paraguay, the town has a population of about 15,000 people, predominantly Mestizos (of mixed European and Indian descent), and the official languages are Spanish and Guaraní.
