Mörtschach is a municipality in the county of Spittaldea Valley in the Austrian state of Carinthia, situated in the High Tauern National Park. Known for its spectacular mountain scenery, hiking trails and winter sports, this Alpine village with a population of about 900 is a typical Austrian alpine vacation destination.
Murchach is situated on the banks of the river Mühl and is surrounded by peaks such as the Hoch Alm, at an altitude of about 1,000 meters above sea level.
