Shunqing is the central urban area under the jurisdiction of Nanchong City, Sichuan Province, located in the northeastern part of the Sichuan Basin, on the west bank of the middle reaches of the Jialing River. As the political, economic and cultural core area of Nanchong, Shunqing District has a total area of 555 square kilometers and a resident population of about 600,000 people. The region has a subtropical humid monsoon climate with four distinct seasons and an average annual temperature of about 17℃.
With more than 2,200 years of establishment history, Shunqing is one of the birthplaces of the Three Kingdoms culture, with historical relics such as the Ten Thousand Scrolls Building and the Han Huan Hou Ancestral Hall remaining. The modern economy is dominated by commerce and logistics, equipment manufacturing and modern agriculture, and it is the center of commerce and trade in Nanchong and an important node in the Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Zone. The transportation network in the area is well developed, with Lanzhou-Chongqing Railway and Hurong Expressway passing through the area, and only 15 kilometers away from Nanchong Gaoping Airport.
Shunqing blends natural landscapes with humanistic heritage, and attractions such as Xishan Scenic Area and Beihu Park are popular. Local specialties include Nanchong Winter Vegetables, Shunqing Mutton Meat Noodle and other northern Sichuan flavors, and the annual Three Kingdoms Cultural Festival attracts a large number of tourists. The city has a concentration of educational and medical resources, with colleges and universities such as Xihua Normal University and a number of tertiary hospitals.
