St. Francis of Assisi Parish, located on Coloane Island in the Macau Special Administrative Region of China, is one of the seven parishes in Macau, named after the Catholic saint St. Francis Xavier. With an area of about 7.6 square kilometers and a relatively small population, the parish is known for its tranquil coastal environment and rich cultural heritage. The district retains Portuguese architectural styles, such as the famous St. Francis of Assisi Church, which has become a landmark with its goose-yellow facade and baroque elements.
St. Francis of Assisi Parish boasts natural attractions such as Coloane Town Center, Black Sand Beach, Bamboo Bay Beach, and the exotic Coastal Trail. It is famous for its traditional Portuguese restaurants, Andrew's Bakery Egg Tarts, and the fusion of Chinese and Portuguese culture attracts a large number of tourists. Its cultural uniqueness is further demonstrated by the religious events and festivals held annually, such as the Holy Day of St. Francis of Assisi.
The economy is dominated by tourism and small businesses, and the pace of life is soothing and suitable for leisure and vacation. The parish is conveniently connected to the Macau Peninsula and Taipa by bus, making it an ideal destination for experiencing Macau's natural beauty and historical atmosphere.
