Vysokoye (Высокае) - Overview of Belarusian Border Towns
Vysokoye is a border town in the Brest region of Belarus, located in the southwestern part of the country, on the border with Poland, about 50 kilometers from the city of Brest. As one of the most important border crossings between Belarus and Poland, the town is connected to the two countries by road and railroad, and is one of the hubs for cross-border trade and people-to-people exchanges. The town is surrounded by rich agricultural resources, and the local economy is based on the processing of agricultural products and border services. Vysokoye retains some of its Soviet-era architecture, and its tranquil atmosphere is a unique blend of the vibrancy of a border town.
