Yajiang County is located in Ganzi Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province, China, on the southeastern edge of the Tibetan Plateau. It is situated in the middle reaches of the Yalong River, at an altitude of about 2,600 meters, and is famous for its magnificent canyons, high mountains and Tibetan culture. Yajiang is a key node on the Sichuan-Tibet Highway (G318 National Highway), connecting Kangding and Litang, and has a remarkable transportation status.
The region is rich in natural landscapes, with attractions such as the Yalong River Grand Canyon and Qingdagou Forest Park, and outstanding biodiversity, making it a popular destination for trekking and eco-tourism. Yajiang is predominantly Tibetan, with a strong ethnic culture, traditional festivals and Tibetan architecture such as towers are unique. The economy is based on agriculture, animal husbandry and tourism, and is rich in specialty products such as matsutake mushrooms. In recent years, with the development of tourism in western Sichuan, Yajiang is becoming an ideal gateway to explore the nature and culture of the Tibetan region.
