Anolaima is a colonial-style town in the Colombian department of Cundinamarca, located about 80 kilometers southwest of Bogotá, in the Bogotá metropolitan area. Founded in 1538, the town retains a rich architectural heritage from the Spanish colonial period, with white churches and traditional homes around its central plaza full of historical charm. The area is predominantly agricultural, producing coffee, sugar cane and tropical fruits, and the mild climate and surrounding mountainous landscape attract short weekend visitors. Anori also maintains traditional handicrafts and folk festivals, such as the "Fiesta de San Juan" in June, a unique blend of Indian and Spanish ceremonies that make the town an ideal destination for experiencing the rural culture of central Colombia.
