Introduction to Lower Prince's Region of Dutch St. Maarten
The Dutch district of Lower Prince of Sint Maarten (Dutch: Prinsenkwartier) is located in the southern part of the island of Sint Maarten in the Lesser Antilles in the Caribbean Sea, and is one of the four main administrative districts of Sint Maarten, a constituent country of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. Known for its peaceful residential setting and proximity to the capital city of Phillipsburg, the district covers an area of approximately 12 square kilometers, is relatively sparsely populated, and is characterized by a mixture of Caribbean culture and Dutch colonial history.
