Introduction to Murgap, Turkmenistan
Murgap is a town in the Lebap region of Turkmenistan, located in the southeastern part of the country, near the borders of Afghanistan and Uzbekistan. It is located in the arid plains region along the Amu Darya River and has a typical continental climate with hot, dry summers and cold winters. The town is based on agriculture as the mainstay of its economy, especially cotton cultivation and animal husbandry.
Historically, Murgap was one of the important nodes of the Silk Road, a trade route connecting Central Asia with South Asia.
