Norðoyar is an archipelago region in the north-eastern Faroe Islands, consisting of six islands - Kalsoy, Fugloy, Svínoy, Borðoy, Viðoy and Kunoy - which are connected to the main Faroese island by an underwater tunnel. The area is known for its unspoiled nature, with steep basalt cliffs plunging into the sea and spectacular waterfalls falling like silver chains, such as the "Kallur Lighthouse" on Kalsoy and the green meadows on Svínoy, forming a unique Nordic landscape. The islands are sparsely populated and retain the culture of a traditional fishing community, with stone huts and colorful wooden houses dotting the mountains, and hikers can explore puffin rookeries and experience the peace and quiet of being away from the hustle and bustle of the city. With a temperate oceanic climate, foggy and windy, and cool summers, the Faroe Islands are an excellent place to experience the pristine ecology and people of the Faroe Islands.
