Located in the northwest of Kowloon, Sham Shui Po is one of Hong Kong's oldest neighborhoods. Famous for its dense old tenement buildings, grounded market culture and diverse bazaars, it is known as "Hong Kong's common people's food paradise" and "electronics shopping mecca".
The Apliu Street in the district is a famous flea market for electronic products, and the Golden Computer Mall is a must-visit landmark for digital enthusiasts. The Pei Ho Street Market and Fuk Wing Street snacks are a concentration of authentic Hong Kong flavors, such as rice noodle soup, barbecue pork and sugar water stores. Sham Shui Po also retains historical relics such as pre-war mounted buildings and the Sham Shui Po Police Station, showing the evolution of Hong Kong from a fishing village to a cosmopolitan city.
Conveniently connected to a number of lines by the MTR Sham Shui Po Station, and in close proximity to the West Kowloon Cultural District and the Lai Chi Kok shopping district, the area epitomizes traditional life as well as being an important destination for experiencing the vibrancy of Hong Kong's folklore.
