Cap Malabata is located in the north of Morocco, at the entrance to the Strait of Gibraltar, about 10 kilometers from the city of Tangier. The cape is famous for its iconic white Moorish castle, built at the beginning of the 20th century, which has become the most striking landmark of Cap Malabata.
The Cape is located on the northwesternmost tip of the African continent and offers magnificent views of the coastline. It offers unique views of the Atlantic Ocean as it meets the Mediterranean Sea and, on a clear day, even the coastline of Spain. The surrounding rocky shores and sandy beaches are the perfect place to watch the sunset.
A blend of Moorish and European architectural styles, Cabo Marco Castle was historically used as a fortification and signal station. Today the restored castle is a popular tourist attraction, with a restaurant and observation deck where visitors can experience a unique blend of Moroccan and European culture.
Visitors to the Ras Douala can reach it by cab from Tangier or by car along the coastal road. The area is suitable for activities such as photography, coastal hiking and seafood tasting. It is recommended to visit in the evening to avoid the scorching sun and to enjoy the perfect combination of the sunset over the strait and the night view of the castle.
