Sursee is a historic town of about 10,000 inhabitants in the northern part of the canton of Lucerne, Switzerland, on the western shore of Lake Sempachersee. As an important regional economic center, Sursee is known for its well-preserved medieval old town and convenient location.
The old town of Sulce, with its 13th-century St. George's Church, the town hall and colorful facades of the townhouses, is a typical example of Swiss medieval architecture. The annual Sursee-Märt in November is one of the largest traditional markets in Switzerland, attracting tens of thousands of visitors to experience the local crafts and culinary culture.
The town has a well-developed manufacturing and service sector and is close to the A2 freeway and the main railroad line, which takes you to the city of Lucerne in 30 minutes. Lake Sulce offers leisure activities such as sailing and swimming, and the surrounding hilly terrain is suitable for hiking and biking, representing a pleasant lakeside town in central Switzerland.
