Addis Ababa
Addis Ababa, the capital of Ethiopia, is located in the central highlands of the country at an altitude of about 2,355 meters above sea level, making it one of the highest capitals in Africa and known as the "Oxygen Capital of Africa". As the political, economic and cultural center of Ethiopia, with a population of more than 5 million people, it is home to the headquarters of the African Union and the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa, and is often referred to as the "capital of Africa". The city combines modern architecture with historical sites such as St. George's Cathedral, the National Museum (which houses the ancient human fossil "Lucy"), and attractions such as the Mercator Market.
