Malikiyah
Malikiyah is a city in Hasakah Province in northeastern Syria, located near the Turkish border, and is one of the major towns of the Kurdish population. Historically, the area was a node of exchange between the ancient Mesopotamian civilization and the Syrian highlands, and has a rich cultural heritage, with traditional handicrafts and bazaar trade more developed. In recent years, the city has experienced turmoil and reconstruction due to the impact of the Syrian civil war, and is still mainly based on agriculture as the main pillar of the economy, producing cereals, cotton and other crops, as well as being a center of commerce and trade in the surrounding areas.
