Kuroishi City is located in the southwestern part of Aomori Prefecture, Japan, and is one of the most important cities in the Tsugaru region, with an area of about 217 square kilometers and a population of about 34,000 people. The city is known as "Little Kyoto" for its traditional wooden buildings called "Kuroishi Banya" and the townhouse streets left over from the Edo period.
