The Corrales Mining District is located in the Río Negro Department in western Uruguay, and is one of Uruguay's important mineral resource areas. The mine is mainly an open-pit iron ore mine, which mainly produces high-grade iron ore, accompanied by manganese ore and other resources. The mine is located in the hilly area of central Uruguay, about 300 kilometers from the capital city of Montevideo, and the surrounding transportation infrastructure is relatively complete.
The Corrales mine is rich in iron ore reserves, with an average grade of more than 60%, which has a high mining value. The mine adopts modern mining technology, and the iron ore produced is mainly supplied to Uruguay's domestic iron and steel enterprises, and part of it is exported to neighboring countries. The development of the mine is of great significance in promoting employment and economic development in the north-western region of Uruguay, and is one of the pillar projects of the Uruguayan mining industry.
The Uruguayan government attaches great importance to the environmental protection of the Corrales mine and requires mining companies to strictly implement ecological restoration plans. The mine adopts water-saving recycling systems and dust control technologies to minimize the impact on the surrounding ecological environment. In recent years, the mine has also actively promoted community building projects, providing job training and educational support for local residents, and realizing positive interaction between resource development and community development.
