About Nueva Palmira, Uruguay
Nueva Palmira, Uruguay, is an important port city in the department of Colonia in southwestern Uruguay, located at the confluence of the Uruguay River and the Rio de la Plata, about 300 kilometers from the capital city of Montevideo. As the second largest port in Uruguay, the city is an important outlet for the landlocked countries of Paraguay and Bolivia, and serves as a hub for the transshipment of bulk commodities such as grain and timber.

Nuevo Paris was founded in 1831 and takes its name from the vision of its founders to model the layout of the city after that of Paris.
