Nagchu, Tibet, China: Pastoral and Cultural Pearl of the Northern Tibetan Plateau
Located in the northern part of the Tibet Autonomous Region, between the Tanggula Mountains and the Nyingchi Tanggula Mountains, with an average altitude of more than 4,500 meters, Nagchu is the core area of the Northern Tibetan Plateau, and one of the highest prefectural-level cities in the world. It has a plateau sub-cold monsoon climate with long winters and dry climate. The vast Qiangtang grassland is its iconic landscape, harboring rich wildlife resources such as Tibetan antelope and wild yak.
