Hsichih District is located in the northeast of New Taipei City, Taiwan Province of China, on the banks of the Keelung River, and is an important satellite city of the Taipei metropolitan area. With a total area of 71.2354 square kilometers and a population of about 200,000, the district has become an important hub connecting Taipei City and Keelung City due to its special geographic location.
Surrounded by mountains on three sides, with the Keelung River running through the whole area, Xizhi has a number of highways and railroads passing through, including the Zhongshan Highway, the Northern Second Highway, and the Taiwan Railway Longitudinal Line, and is only about 15 kilometers away from the center of Taipei City, making it a well-developed and convenient transportation network.
As an important node of the Greater Taipei Science and Technology Corridor, Xizhi is home to numerous science and technology parks and large corporate headquarters, including well-known business centers such as Farglory U-TOWN. At the same time, it retains a traditional manufacturing base, forming a diversified industrial structure and economic pattern.
The district boasts natural and cultural attractions such as Cuihu Lake and Gongbei Temple, and the annual Shiodome Dream Carnival showcases local characteristics. Local snacks, such as Xizhi rice noodle soup, baked cake and bean curd, are popular among the public, reflecting a strong sense of local life.
