Shushi County, belonging to Kashgar Region of Xinjiang, is located at the northern foot of the Pamir Plateau and the western edge of the Tarim Basin, and was an important post on the southern route of the ancient Silk Road. It is adjacent to Kashgar City in the east and Kizilsu and Kirghiz Autonomous Prefecture in the west, with a total area of about 8,104 square kilometers, inhabited by 13 ethnic groups including Uyghur, Han, Tajik, etc., with rich Uyghur flavor and multiculturalism intermingling and coexisting.
