Malaviska (Малівська), located in the Lviv Oblast in western Ukraine, is a small city with a rich history, ideally situated in the agricultural region in the foothills of the Carpathian Mountains, about 100 kilometers from the city of Lviv. The city's history is rich in multiculturalism, having been part of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, the Austrian Empire and the Second Polish Republic until 1939, when it was incorporated into the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic. The city retains its 19th-century wooden buildings, Orthodox churches and traditional bazaars, showing the unique architectural style and folklore of western Ukraine. The economy is based on agriculture and food processing, and the city is famous for its sunflowers, wheat and dairy products. With a population of about 80,000 and friendly residents, the town hosts traditional folk festivals every summer, attracting tourists from all over the region.
