Horton is a city in Brown County, Kansas, United States, located in the northeastern part of the state, about 100 kilometers from the state capital, Topeka. Founded in 1886, Houghton sprang up as a result of railroad development, taking its name from an executive of the Missouri Pacific Railroad at the time.
