Located in the northern part of China's Hebei Province, Longhua County is part of the city of Chengde and is situated in the transition zone between the Yanshan Mountains and the Inner Mongolian Plateau. The area is known for its rich history, culture and natural landscape, and was an important part of the Mulan Paddocks, the royal hunting grounds of the Qing Dynasty. With a low average annual temperature, four distinct seasons and cool summers, Longhua is a popular summer vacation destination in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region.
There are famous scenic spots in Longhua, such as Maojingba National Forest Park and Dong Cunrui Martyrs' Mausoleum. Among them, Maojingba attracts a large number of tourists with its primitive forests and alpine meadow landscapes, and you can also experience skiing in winter. Longhua is rich in hot springs, and a number of hot spring resorts provide recreational services. The local Manchu culture is distinctive, with traditional food and snacks such as oat noodle nests and hand-held mutton.

Longhua is in the rapid development stage of rural revitalization and eco-tourism development. The transportation is convenient, and it is connected to Beijing, Chengde and other cities through Chengchi Expressway.
