Lundazi is a border town in the Southern Province of Zambia, located in the southern part of the country in the border area with Zimbabwe. An important transportation hub, the town is connected by road and rail to Lusaka, the capital of Zambia, and Victoria Falls, a famous city in Zimbabwe.
Lundazi is situated in the southern highlands of Zambia and has a savannah climate with distinct wet and dry seasons. Its strategic location makes it a key node for cross-border trade, particularly at the Chirundu border crossing to Zimbabwe.
The economy is based on agriculture, with maize, cotton and tobacco being the main crops, while livestock farming is also well developed. In recent years, the town has become commercially active thanks to border trade and logistics services, with mini-markets and transportation becoming an important source of livelihood for the local population.
Lundazi is predominantly populated by the Tonga and Lozi ethnic groups and retains a traditional tribal culture. Town facilities are relatively basic but vibrant, with the local market, elementary school and medical center forming the core of community life. The surrounding nature is pristine and attracts a small number of adventure travelers to experience the countryside.
