Pubei County is located in the southern part of China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, belonging to Qinzhou City, and is situated in the hinterland of the Beibu Gulf Economic Zone. The county has a total area of about 2,520 square kilometers, with a population of about 830,000, mainly Han Chinese and multi-ethnicity. The terrain is mainly hilly and mountainous, with a southern subtropical monsoon climate, rich in natural resources, and producing tropical fruits such as lychee, longan and banana, making it the "Hometown of Banana in China" and "Hometown of Lychee in China".
Based on agriculture, Pubei has gradually developed the industries of agricultural products processing, building materials and weaving crafts. Specialties such as red vertebrate mushrooms and Guanpangdang fish are famous throughout the country, and woven handicrafts are exported to overseas. In recent years, the tourism industry has been actively promoted, and the Wuhuang Mountain National Geopark attracts tourists with its Danxia landforms and primitive forest landscapes, while preserving cultural heritages such as the Hakka hut clusters.
Pubei is a gathering place of Hakka culture, with Hakka and Cantonese as the main languages, and retains traditional folklore such as dragon boat races and tea-picking operas. The transportation network is well-developed, with the Guihe Expressway running through the county and about 100 kilometers from Qinzhou Port, making it easy to connect to the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. In the future, it will continue to deepen the strategy of integrating agricultural industrialization and eco-tourism.
