Qing County has a long history and is the hometown of Ji Xiaolan, a famous writer in the Qing Dynasty, with a history of more than 1,500 years of city building. The local area retains the cultural remains of the Grand Canal and traditional folk activities. The economy is dominated by equipment manufacturing, food processing (the Yangjiao crispy melons of Qingxian County are famous nationwide), and modern service industry, and it is the largest production base of electronic chassis in China and an important cosmetic industry agglomeration area in the north.
Qingxian County is actively integrated into the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei synergistic development, and has built a provincial-level economic development zone and an agricultural science and technology park. In recent years, it has vigorously developed facility agriculture and eco-tourism, and has been awarded the titles of "National Garden County" and "National Greening Model County", with the Canal Ecological Landscape Belt and Pangu Wetland Park becoming regional ecological highlights.
