Tabai, located in the southern Thai province of Satun, is a peaceful coastal town on the Andaman coast. It is adjacent to the famous Rebel Island and is known for its pristine white sand beaches, crystal clear waters and rich marine ecology, making it an ideal destination for diving and snorkeling enthusiasts.
Dabai is surrounded by several uninhabited islets and coral reefs, such as the Dabai Islands National Park, which protects mangroves and diverse marine life. Visitors can see tropical fish, sea turtles and even whale sharks. In the evening, the fluorescent plankton on the beach creates the spectacle of "blue tears".
The local population is predominantly Muslim, and the architecture and food are a blend of Malay culture. Dabai Ferry Terminal is a major hub for access to Pulau Rebel, about 2 hours by car from Hat Yai Airport. The town's facilities are simple and suitable for travelers seeking a quiet and natural experience.
The best time to visit is during the dry season from November to April. It is advisable to carry sunscreen and respect local religious customs. You can reach Bay and then transfer to a long-tail boat to explore the neighboring islands, or head to Libe Island for a more complete tour.
