Zacang, Tibet, China: a cultural treasure on the banks of the Yarlung Tsangpo River
Located in Shannan City of the Tibet Autonomous Region, on the south bank of the middle reaches of the Yarlung Zangbo River, about 60 kilometers away from downtown Lhasa, Zacang County is one of the important birthplaces of Tibetan culture. It is one of the important birthplaces of Tibetan culture, and has the first Buddhist monastery in Tibet, Sangye Monastery, which was built in the 8th century, integrating the architectural styles of Tibet, China and India, and is regarded as an "architectural museum", and is a national key cultural relics protection unit.
