Introduction to Butuo County, Sichuan, China
Butuo County is located in the southeastern part of Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province, China, in the transition zone between the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau and the Sichuan Basin, with an average altitude of about 2,000 meters. The county is predominantly populated by the Yi ethnic group, accounting for more than 90% of the total population, and is an important birthplace and preservation site of Yi culture. Butou has a cool climate, rich in natural resources, and agriculture is dominated by potato, buckwheat and animal husbandry.
