Introduction to Daqūq, Iraq
Daqūq is a town in the Kirkuk Governorate of Iraq, located in the north of the country, about 40 kilometers from the provincial capital of Kirkuk. It has a long history dating back to the ancient Mesopotamian civilization and was an important stronghold of the Assyrian and Ottoman empires. Daghoug is located in an agricultural region, where wheat, barley and fruits are grown, and the economy is dependent on agriculture and a small amount of oil resources.
