Dingjie County is located in the southwestern part of Shigatse City, Tibet Autonomous Region of China, at the northern foothills of the Himalayas, bordering Nepal, with an average altitude of about 4,300 meters. The county boasts unique natural landscapes and cultural heritage, including famous attractions such as Dobzha Lake and Qiangm Grottoes. Tingjie has a highland temperate semi-arid climate, and animal husbandry and barley cultivation are the main industries in the area.
