Linthicum is an unincorporated community in Anne Arundel County, Maryland, United States, located approximately 8 kilometers south of Baltimore City. Named after the Linthicum family, an 18th-century landowner, the area is adjacent to the Baltimore-Washington International Airport (BWI) and is an important transportation and commercial hub around the airport.
Linthicum is located in the heart of Maryland, with easy access to Baltimore and Washington, D.C. via I-695 and I-97. The community is served by a light rail station with direct access to downtown Baltimore and the airport terminal. Its close proximity to BWI Airport has attracted many logistics companies, hotels and convention centers to the area.
Linthicum is known for its peaceful suburban setting with several public schools, parks and medical facilities such as St. Agnes Hospital. The community retains some of its historic buildings, such as the 19th-century St. John's Episcopal Church, and boasts a large shopping and dining district that combines residential convenience with historic ambiance.
