Shanhua is located in the central part of Tainan City, Taiwan Province of China, and is one of the important administrative districts of Tainan City. Originally known as "Wanli Street", it was later renamed in honor of Shen Guangwen, a great scholar of the Ming Dynasty, who was known as Wenkai (文开), or Shanhua (善化). The area has a total area of about 55.79 square kilometers and a population of about 45,000, with agriculture and science and technology industries as the main economic pillars.
Shanhua has a rich cultural heritage, with historical sites such as the Shanhua Qingan Palace and the Shen Guangwen Memorial Monument preserved in the area. The area is rich in agricultural products such as hemp and corn, and the famous Shanhua Brewery is an important production base for Taiwan beer. In recent years, with the development of the Southern Science and Industrial Park, the area has gradually developed into a unique landscape where traditional agriculture and high-tech industries coexist.
Transportation in Shanhua is convenient, with a Shanhua station on the Taiwan Railway (TRC) Longitudinal Line, and National Highway No. 3 and Taiwan Highway No. 1 providing convenient highway transportation. Tourism resources in the surrounding area include the Shanhua Sugar Factory and the Strawberry Tourism Orchard, which attract a large number of tourists every year to experience the idyllic scenery and local delicacies.
