Located in the central part of China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, Tumet Left Banner is under the jurisdiction of the capital city of Hohhot and is situated in the core area of the Tumecheon Plain. As a famous Mongolian historical and cultural flag, its name originates from the Mongolian Tumet tribe. With a total area of about 2,700 square kilometers and a population of about 350,000, the flag is home to many ethnic groups, including Mongolians and Chinese.
Historically, the flag was a place where nomadic civilization and farming civilization mingled, and revolutionary memorial sites such as the former residence of Ulanhu exist. Modern agriculture is dominated by corn and dairy farming, and the industry covers dairy processing, new energy and other fields, which is regarded as the "core production area of dairy capital". Beijing-Tibet Expressway and Huzhun Railway run through the whole territory, with convenient transportation.
The intangible cultural heritages such as Naadam Assembly and Mongolian folk songs are preserved, and Hassu Sea Wetland Park is an important ecological barrier in the Yellow River Basin. In recent years, it has focused on the development of grassland tourism and red tourism, forming a regional characteristic of both humanity and nature.
