Kalach-na-Donu
Kalach-na-Donu is a city in the Volgograd Oblast of Russia, located on the left bank of the Don River, about 90 kilometers from the oblast capital Volgograd. It was founded in 1708 and developed into a transportation and trade hub due to its location at an important crossing of the Don River. During World War II, it was one of the key battlegrounds of the Battle of Stalingrad, witnessing fierce exchanges between Soviet and German armies, and is of great historical significance.
