Kokshetau is an important city in the north of Kazakhstan, located in the country's Akmola Oblast, about 300 kilometers from the capital, Nursultan. As the capital of the oblast, Kokshetau is not only a regional administrative center, but also an economic and cultural hub. The name of the city means "blue hills" in Kazakh, which is derived from the surrounding undulating natural landscape.
