Lingyun County is located in the northwestern part of China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, under Baise City, at the southeast foot of the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau, famous for its karst landscape and magnificent mountains. With an area of about 2,037 square kilometers and a population of about 200,000, the county is a multi-ethnic settlement, dominated by Zhuang and Han Chinese. Lingyun has a long history and was known as "Sicheng" in ancient times. It is an important node of the Ancient Tea and Horse Trail, and is rich in cultural heritage and natural landscapes.
Lingyun is famous for its "landscape painting gallery", and its core attractions include Naling Cave, Shuiyuan Cave and Chashan Pyramid. Naling Cave is a peculiar cave system in Asia, Shuiyuan Cave combines Buddhist culture with underground river landscape, while the Tea Mountain Pyramid showcases 10,000 acres of terraced tea gardens producing Lingyun White Hair Tea, which is a National Geographical Indication product of China. The county has a mild climate with an average annual temperature of 20°C, making it suitable for eco-tourism and outdoor adventure.
The economy is based on agriculture and tourism, with tea, oil tea and mulberry silkworms as the pillar industries. Lingyun white tea is famous both at home and abroad, and cultural festivals such as the "Tea Culture Festival" attract many tourists. The local area retains the traditional customs of the Zhuang and Yao ethnic groups, such as the song dike and copper drum dance, and has a rich humanistic flavor. Conveniently connected to Baise City and Yunnan Province by highway, it is an important destination on the Yunnan-Guizhou-Guizhou tourist route.
