Suktopen (Sermiligaaq) is a small settlement on the east coast of Greenland, part of the municipality of Semeysok, at the entrance to the beautiful Nunavik Fjord. With only about 200 inhabitants, this Inuit village traditionally lives by fishing and hunting and retains its original Arctic culture. Surrounded by magnificent glaciers, fjords and tundra, it is home to schools of whales and seabirds in the summer, and an excellent spot for aurora borealis in the winter. Despite its remoteness and reliance on boats or small planes for transportation, Suketoppen is a unique window into the ecology and culture of Greenland's east coast, with its untouched natural beauty and simple atmosphere.
