Lengo is a small town on the western coast of Guadalcanal Island in the Solomon Islands, part of the Guadalcanal Province, about 40 kilometers from the capital Honiara, and is known for its tranquil bays and World War II historical sites. The local economy is based on agriculture and fisheries, with residents growing coconuts and cacao and fishing for tuna and lobster offshore. Rayco Bay was once an important supply base for the U.S. military during World War II, and the old wharves and barracks are still scattered around the area, making it a popular destination for history buffs. The tropical rainforest climate covers the whole year, with an average annual temperature of 25-30℃, abundant precipitation, and rich coral reef ecology in the surrounding waters, which is suitable for snorkeling and sea fishing. The town retains a traditional tribal culture, with villagers featuring leather carving and grass weaving handicrafts, and the simple folkways and pristine natural scenery attract a small number of backpackers to explore.
