Shulin Township is located in the western coast of Yunlin County, Taiwan Province of China, neighboring Kouhu Township in the north, Taixi Township in the south, Sihu Township in the east, and the Taiwan Strait in the west, making it a typical coastal township. The entire township has a flat terrain, with agriculture as the main industry, and produces crops such as wendan, bitter gourd, and watermelon, among which "ShuiLin Bitter Gourd" is famous for its crispy flesh and moderate bitterness, and has become a local specialty agricultural product. The coastal area is rich in marine resources, including oyster farming and fisheries. ShuiLin Township has preserved many traditional rural features, such as centuries-old houses and traditional temples, among which the ShuiLin ShengAnGong is the center of local beliefs, and the annual temple fair attracts many people to participate. With its simple folkways, idyllic and oceanic atmosphere, it is an excellent place to experience the local culture of southern Taiwan.
